Erroneous
negative belief about the dangers of childbirth and

Some
Documented Studies:
Results
Are Encouraging!
Studies have
indicated that “infertile” women utilizing mind/body techniques
have a 42-55% conception rate as compared to 20% for those not
following this protocol.
A 1992 study
found that women who participated in mind/body therapy experienced
a 34% conception rate compared to 20% with In Vitro
Fertilization alone. Decreased levels of depression, anxiety
and anger were also noticed.
John Gruzelier,
Professor of Psychology at the Imperial College School
of Medicine, revealed in his study that self-hypnosis can
strengthen the immune system by 48% in just six
weeks.
Studies
conducted by Alice Domar Ph D, showed the efficacy of mind/body
techniques in removing unresolved issue around
pregnancy and childbirth. Forty two percent of the
132 infertile women participating in the initial
study, fell pregnant within six months of completing the
mind/body programme.
A 2004 Israeli
study conducted by Prof. Eliahu Levitas showed that hypnosis can
double the success rate of IVF. His findings
were presented to the European Society of Human
Reproduction and Embryology Conference in 2004.

Emotion
aspects of infertility
Infertility
& Women
Individual
women have different experiences of infertility but there are
several feelings that are common. Women may feel a sense of
anger at not being able to have children and resentment towards
other pregnant women. They often have feelings of guilt and
may even regarding their infertility as punishment for putting
their careers first, for using contraception or for a previous
termination. Self hatred and body image issues are both
common issues associated with infertility.
Some women may
feel uncomfortable around other peoples children, even family
members. They may isolate themselves as a form of self
protection against the emotional pain that they are feeling.
Increased isolation results in a lack of support at a time
when they need it most. Family occasions such as Christmas or
Mothers Day, may become painful reminders of their own perceived
short comings. Depression is a common and often
undiagnosed problem for women with infertility
issues.
Hypnosis is
a fast, safe effective tool for releasing all forms of
negative emotion.
Infertility
and Men
The incidence
of sperm dysfunction is unfortunately increasing. Until quite
recently, female fertility was the main focus of any
investigation into a couples inability to conceive.
The man may
feel that he is impotent or lacking in masculinity when he first
discovers that he has a problem. There is a strong social
link between fertility and virility which often makes it hard for
men to seek or accept treatment. They often prefer to
put there head in the sand and hope that the problem goes
away whilst their partner is running from specialist to specialist,
taking full responsibility for the couples infertility. This
is very unfair and potentially damaging to the relationship.
It take two to make a baby and that means commitment from
both parties to do what ever is required to achieve that
goal.
Hypnosis can
help couples reconnect and pull together as a united
team.
